We’ll bring You more than a song

“I’ll bring you more than a song, for a song in itself is not what You have required
You search much deeper within, through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart”

Familiar words from a popular worship song. We sang it again on Sunday, and once again it struck me that what we do is really about so much more than our songs. It’s all about Jesus. It’s all about HIS worth and glory being celebrated.

And those words of His come back to me: “these people honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.” (Matt 15:8). Oh Lord, let us never fall into that trap. Let us never be a band who honours you with our songs, but our hearts are wrapped up in other things. Let us be true worshippers!

We’ve had a great few months, playing at some wonderful churches and loving each second! Here are some pics:

St Peter’s By the Lake Lutheran Church – a stunning church with a great view of Zoo Lake! This was our second visit; we shared There’s a Light, and left inspired by a great community, and some great dance moves!

Sharing There's a Light this morning!

After some last minute cancellations we managed to arrange a service at St Ninians Family Church. God has a way of making these things happen, and His timing, as always, was perfect! We shared a great morning and heard some fitting words from Pastor Nic that lined up powerfully with our message.

Leading worship this morning!

We closed out October at Elsburg Methodist for a worship service. We don’t lead worship a lot these days – we usually share our own stories and songs, and so having the congregation join us in song was refreshing, and extremely powerful.

We are almost at Christmas time! Here are our upcoming gigs:

Sun 4 Nov: There’s a Light at Willows Methodist Church 07:30, 09:15
Sun 11 Nov: There’s a Light at Alberton Methodist Church 08:00 and 09:45
Sun 25 Nov: There’s a Light at Dalpark Presbyterian Church 09:30, and Carols at Brackenhurst Methodist 18:00
Sun 2 Dec: Carols at Klipriver Community Church 09:30, and Carols at Randpark Ridge United 18:00
Sun 9 Dec: Carols at Boksburg Central Methodist Church 09:30
