We Are Blessed

Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a blessed 2016 so far.

We’ve had a quiet start to the year. We played a few dates in Feb, and then March has been quiet. We’ve decided to not play Easter for a change – to rather spend that special time with our families. Then in April we start up again, and we have a LOT on the go:

April 3, 09:30: Meyerton Methodist Church

April 10, 09:00: Genesis Family Church, Kempton Park

April 17, all day: Randpark Ridge United Church:

May 1, 09:00: Emseni Methodist Church

May 8, 09:00: Bethlehem Methodist Church

May 15, all day: Brackenhurst Methodist Church

May 29, 08:30: Witfield Methodist Church

June 5, 09:00: Boksburg North Methodist Church

June 12, 07:30, 09:30: Primrose Methodist Church

June 19, 09:00: Emseni Methodist Church

It’s going to be an exciting year – we hope to see you at the services.

USA

As you know, we were invited to the USA by Doug Ray after covering his song “Hammer No More” on our Walking With the King album. Originally we’d planned to go around Aug/Sept this year, but then circumstances led to us having to put the tour off until further notice.

Well, God is great, and clearly it is his plan for us to get to the USA this year, because our tickets have been paid for and we are flying out at the end of August to spend 2 and a half weeks in Springfield, Missouri! We really give God all the glory for making this happen. And thanks to everyone who has supported us in our fund-raising to get us over, your help has been a true blessing.

We’re excited to share our songs with some different people, and to tell God’s story through our music on the other side of the world. It’s a dream come true really, and we are profoundly grateful.

We’re still doing one or two more fund raisers to cover the last of the costs, so keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more details.

Covered in Mercy

Well Easter is early this year, and as we start reflecting on the awesome plan God had for this season, I leave you with an old song of ours, Covered in Mercy. Notice how the words in chorus 1 and chorus 2 differ.

Come sit at the foot of the cross and worship our great Saviour who died and rose again.
Battered and broken, nailed to a tree
I watch from a distance but Your eyes are on me
My heart filled with sorrow, I soak in Your pain
And each time I turn away, I come back again

Cos there was something about You, and the love in Your eyes
There was something about You, and it made me wanna cry

I come to sit at the foot of the Cross
I come to worship the Saviour who died
Alone and forsaken at Calvary
Covered in blood, beaten and wounded, He looks up at me
And His eyes are filled with tears
And He whispers “My Son, I love you, I love you, I love you”

And then the sky grew dark, and they came to take Him away
But the blood stained Cross, covered in mercy, will always stay
Intro

Battered and broken, I long to be free
Sometimes You feel distant, but You’re always with me
My heart filled with sorrow, You soak in my pain
And each time I turn away, You call me back again

And Lord there’s something about You, and the love in Your eyes
Yes there’s something about You, and it made me realise
I come to sit at the foot of the Cross
I come to worship the Saviour who died
Alone and forsaken at Calvary
Covered in Your blood, cleansed and forgiven, I look up at You
And my eyes are filled with tears
And I whisper “My God, I love you, I love you, I love you”
