It’s been a busy time for us – mostly with preparing our Christmas album, which is now out!
God is good, and He always makes a way where there seems to be no way. Proof: he uses us 4 ordinary guys from the East Rand, and uses this music to really touch people’s lives and change their hearts.
We had a great evening at All Saints Anglican Church on 18 Oct. Father Des has always been so kind and supportive, and we so enjoyed singing our songs to this congregation. A great moment was right at the end, when we were blasting out Walking With the King, I look up and see an old lady, definitely 80+ years old, dancing and lifting her hands. Awesome!
Then a week later we were off to Trinity Methodist Church Linden. We’ve always loved playing in that beautiful chapel of theirs! On this day we were blessed – after an early setup (before the early service) we were treated to a full breakfast by the church, before heading back and playing our whole Walking With the King set. We had a blast – as usual, Hammer No More and You Walked a Mile in My Shoes were powerful, and Walking With the King had everyone dancing away. Big thanks to Rev Cecil Edwards, and we’re so looking forward to sharing with you again next year.
Our last gig before our carols season was at Selcourt Methodist, just a stone’s throw away from Kevin’s house! We led a combined service and once again played our whole Walking With the King set. All we can say is wow, all expectations were exceeded! The songs were moving, there were tears flowing, hands lifting, and some really epic doo-wop moves during My Poor Heart! We were so well supported and sold 86 cds – a new record for us on a Sunday! This is really going to help us in our fund-raising for our USA trip next year. And so thank you Charlie and the whole congregation for the incredible support. We are blessed.
That’s it for now – our Christmas season starts soon, and we’d love to see you at one of our carols events.
Keep on walking with the King!
