Both Sides of the Law

This Winter we had the interesting opportunity to sing and minister to two different groups of people: prisoners and policemen.

First up, we led worship for a Kairos Outside evening. Kairos is a prison ministry, and to quote their website, “Kairos Outside is a special weekend retreat designed to support the female loved ones of men and women who are or have been incarcerated.”  ( And so we had the wonderful privilege of playing an hour of music and singing praises to the King with these ladies. I must say, it was hands down one of my favourite nights of music ever. The dancing and singing was incredible. We even had a “guest” – one of the ladies quietly brushed Rich aside and took over his microphone during “Jabulani”, and the place went wild as she sang loudly and deep within.

Special moments!

Then the week after we played at the Mighty Policemen for God conference in Centurion ( This was a wonderful event, for all policemen to get closer to GOD and pray for our South African Police Service and our members. We had a wonderful time worshiping God and singing His praises, and felt so honoured to be there. Our song “Soldiers” was a kind of a theme song, and together we all proclaimed that “Jesus is the King of Kings, He rules over everything”. This is a great ministry that is planning to go country wide, and we are very excited to be part of it!

On 1 August we FINALLY got to play at an Amcare Fun Day at Alberton Methodist Church. I say this because the first two times we’ve arrived to play it rained! And so we never even managed to set up properly.

But this year the weather was fantastic, no clouds to be seen, and so set up on the stage and belted out some good old rock n roll praise. Check out some pics:

A great day all around, and plenty of funds raised for Amcare.

If you didn’t know it yet, we’re working on a Christmas cd, which is almost done. One more song to record! That’ll be out in November, and we have a bunch of carols nights lined up. Stay tuned for more details.

Until then, keep strong in Jesus!
