Your Love Lifts Me High

“I’m gonna praise Your name every single day of my life

I’m gonna tell the world how Your love lifts me high!”

Has HIS love lifted you high lately?

We’ve been singing some old songs from our A New Beginning album, and as we sang this one at Genesis Family Church a few weeks back it struck me that YES, His love lifts me high. The wonderful, irreplaceable, incredible love of our great God lifts me high, and I hope and pray it does the same for you.

His love overwhelms, encourages, guides, tests and changes me.

And I’m grateful, so so grateful that He loves even me!

This is what CrossRoad is about really – to celebrate His love in our music, to worship Him for who He is and what He’s done, and to lead whoever hears our music to worship Him for who He is and what He’s done.

To tell the world that His love lifts us high – and to encourage you to tell the world that His love lifts you high!

April 2016

March was a quiet month for us, and we used it to practise and prepare our hearts for the busy months in store. And then in April it all began! We started out at Meyerton Methodist – a congregation that has really become special to us over the last couple of years. To our surprise, the inside of the church looked completely different, with the old “side” now being the front, which meant instead of a narrow church with people far at the back, now it’s a wide church with people far on the sides. I think that makes more sense in my head than in writing!

Anyway, we had a great morning sharing songs from “A New Beginning”. Here are some pics:

Jeff was sick as a dog and could hardly speak – but still managed to deliver an inspiring message, leading the congregation into a new series on prayer which God is undoubtedly using to change lives.

As always we felt very much loved and welcomed, and look forward to spending some time in Meyerton again.

Next we stopped off at Genesis Family Church, also singing songs from A New Beginning. It’s an interesting set of songs, which we released in 2012, with some of our harder rocking songs but also a lot more ballads than our other albums. We had a fantastic time soaking in God’s presence, and were excited to see God really move during “I Need You”, “Picking up the Pieces” and “King of the Ocean”.

Genesis is always a favourite stop off for us, and it’s always a great joy to lead worship with a congregation that sings and pours its heart out. A big thanks to Pastor John for the support and encouragement!

And lastly we had the great blessing of being invited to Randpark Ridge United for the first time. Bleary-eyed and sleepy we arrived at 05:30am to set up our equipment, and after some prayer and coffee we opened the early service with our favourite hymn – Rock of Ages. I think the church elders started to worry when the guitar kicked in! But as we moved through the service and I shared the story behind our song Never Again, they warmed into it, and by the time we finished “How Great Thou Art” the congregation were singing along and we’d made new friends.

Then came the 09:30 service, and this time Rock of Ages didn’t scare them! We rock and rolled together, we cried together (during Come Unto Me, of course), we laughed together, we worshipped together, and man it was a service to remember.

With 6 hours to spare before the evening service, we were blessed to spend the afternoon at the house of RRU founding members Tom and Marion. A house with MANY books, great food, comfy beds and wonderful people. What a special time we had enjoying the hospitality of brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you Tom and Marion for your kindness! We are very grateful.

And so we closed out the day with a mix of songs at the evening service, and then said goodbye. Thanks to Craig and Brendan and everyone else involved for a truly memorable day.
